About our peri menopause workshop

BLOG 1 – MAY 2, 2026

Springtime is a great time to review your health and wellbeing and formulate your personal care plan.

This month at Bath Natural Remedies my colleague Nicola Clare, nutritionist, and myself have two workshops running focused on the peri menopause and the menopause.

This weeks’ workshop – Peri menopause – is aimed at those of you who may be entering this first phase of the menopause journey or just want some information so that you can be prepared for when it does start.

There is so much information out there right now which may or may not be useful to you. On the one hand I am delighted the whole subject of menopause is more in the conversation than it has ever been. On the other hand I question the quality of some of the information which seems to be based mostly in opinion along with a determination to offer quick fixes and products probably no one needs. You do not need to be fixed – this is a natural stage of a women’s health. What you do need is information, support and the tools to look after yourself and respond to symptoms when they appear. That is the aim of the workshops Nicola and I are running this month.

So on Thursday 7th of May Nicola and I will be discussing with you what is actually happening to your body and your hormones so that you can take meaningful steps to look after you.

During peri menopause there are some big shifts in our hormone patterns in preparation for the full blown menopause. Each of these stages have their own unique way of effecting us. In peri menopause it is the unpredictability that can be the most difficult bit to manage. As Oestrogen levels are changing – they don’t just drop like a stone as is often inferred – they can go up as well as down. This is often behind unusual mood swings and unusual menstrual patterns. Sleep can be disturbed, appetite can change, energy levels can become unreliable and our usual response to things like a glass of wine or a late night are completely different to our “norm”.

Good support from a more focused nutritional plan can make all the difference to how you feel and how your body can accommodate the fluctuating hormones. Nicola will be giving you guidelines for what areas of your diet to look at, what supplements can help to support you and prepare for the years ahead. I will be discussing what Homeopathic remedies can help and when to use them allowing you to build up your own personal selection of remedies to help with random symptoms and difficult moments.

So come along to our workshop and bring all of your questions. We are here to give you as much information as we can, a plan for you to incorporate into your daily life and remedies to become familiar with so that the next stage, menopause, is much more in your control than you are may believe is possible.

We look forward to seeing you on the 7th.
